Today on the ice of the Academy of Figure Skating in St. Petersburg, where the international Panin Memorial’s competitions take place, ladies skated their short programs. Alena placed second with a half-point margine from the leader (61.52).
Today Alena skated her best short program in the season so far, with a most clean and perfectly performed 3T-3T combination. The technical score could have been higher but for the underrotated Flip. On the whole, both Alena and her coach Alla Piatova, as well as the small audience, were satisfied with Alena’s performance.
- First of all, I’d like to thank everybody who came to cheer for me today. I’m very satisfied with my skating, because I proved, to myself in the first place, that I can skate well at home, at my favorite arena. It gave a lot of positive emotions, and quite a number of people expressed appreciation of my program. Now I’m looking forward to skate tomorrow!
