On returning to the village we started to scream
Hi, my dear fans! Excuse my long silence, please. After returning from Vancouver I had too much to do, including participating in radio and TV shows. Along with that I had to fight acclimatization problems. My whole body was aching so badly that during practices I was just crawling about on the ice. I still cough and when skating sometimes get out of breath. I feel slack. My coach is afraid of making me practice to the maximum, but I cannot lie on oars, as Worlds are close at hand. I will leave for Torino on March, 23. I’m going to recollect all my strength and try to do my best. I will be happy if I can surpass all my European rivals. To tell the truth, I’m a bit surprised by our FS Federation’s attitude. The return tickets they have bought for us are dated the 27 of March. Given that the exhibition gala will be held on the 28 of March, it seems that the officials don’t believe that I can get to the top 5 and win the right to perform at the gala. It’s frustrating. I’ve done well at Olympics. Anyway, I was satisfied with my skating. Of course, it is hard to compete with the Asians for the time being. You’ve seen how Kim Yu-Na skated. She was like a faultless machine. Not a mistake, not even a minor slip-up.

When the competitions were over, Ksenia Makarova and I returned to our room in the Olympic village, came out to the balcony and started to scream with all our might. We shouted that it was all over! It was our way of letting off steam and getting rid of emotional exhaustion. Having screamed to our hearts’ content, we went for a walk along the streets of Vancouver. However, it was a rather dangerous trip, as we were looked at like walking museum exhibits. Everybody wanted to take a picture with us, and at one of the malls a women came up to me and began touching me all over with shaking hands. She was so enthusiastic that it looked like she is ready to start writhing in hysterics. I even got scared a little. Then she asked to take a picture and left us alone.

On the whole, the Games fell short of my expectations. Maybe it was because I didn’t take part neither in the opening, nor in the closing ceremonies. I even never visited the Sochi House. I had thought that I would be overwhelmed with emotions. Nothing of the kind.

Food at the Olympic canteen wasn’t very tasty. The menu seemed varied, but the dishes weren’t at all appetizing. I had a chance to have a decent meal only twice, on our visits to the Russian recovery house.

It was impossible to come near the Olympic fire, as it was fenced in and surrounded by a host of securities. I could snap a photo of it only from a 100 meters’ distance. Hope, things will be different in Sochi.

I have already begun getting ready for the next season. I still have Worlds ahead of me, but the search for the music for my new programs is already under way. I will keep on practicing in April, and in May I’m going to have some rest. I’d like to go to Turkey, to the sea and really have a ball there. But for now I can only dream of such things. I must get in shape for the Worlds. Cheer for me!
Oh, I’ve nearly forgotten to share some private joy with you: I have at last had my right ear pierced a second time. I’d dreamed of it for a long time.

Hey girl, do not be sad ´bout what can FS Federation or anyone can think. Is true that assian always have the best averages, but you have to know how much we enjoy with you; your style, your attitude... You have to think that very soon(maybe in Torino, who knows?) you can be on this group and fight for a medal, cause I think that is true. And I hope that. Cheers and luck from Spain.
